On 13 March 2026, this year’s WSVO General Meeting took place at the Old Town Hall in Eupen, attended by the Minister for Sport of the German-speaking Community, Mr Gregor Freches.

The President was also able to welcome 11 of the 12 affiliated clubs.

A review of the past year was presented, followed by a lively exchange of views, as the problems facing the clubs show no sign of abating.

The sports development study outlined by Sports Minister Gregor Freches comes at just the right time. This will allow everyone to express their views.

The hiking clubs of Montenau, Kelmis and Amel were honoured for 50 years of membership.

Hünningen/Büllingen, Rodt, Weywertz and Hauset had already received this award previously.

The Schönberg village group was admitted as a new member.

Finally, attention was drawn to this year’s major event, the IVV Europiade, taking place from 10–13 June 2026 in Bütgenbach/Worriken.
